I was talking to a Libra Sun about the absolute dumpster fire that is the world today. War, crime, corruption, billionaires pretending to be relatable while hoarding enough wealth to end world hunger 12 times over—the usual. We were both spiraling, trying to process the absurdity of human existence without either screaming into the void or rage-eating an entire loaf of bread.
And here’s where astrology comes in.
Astrology Helps Me Cope—But It’s Not a F*cking Fix-All
For me, astrology is a map, a cheat code, and occasionally, a coping mechanism when the news cycle feels like a horror movie. It helps me track cycles, timing, and why I suddenly want to burn my life down every Mars square Pluto transit. But let’s be real: it’s not a magic wand. It doesn’t stop war, it doesn’t fight crime, and it sure as hell doesn’t explain why people in power continue to be absolute sociopaths.
And yet, people LOVE to either dismiss it entirely or act like it’s the cure for human suffering. Newsflash:
✔ Astrology explains patterns, it does not solve systemic injustice.
✔ The Saturn return isn’t making politicians evil—they were evil before they were born.
✔ You can’t retrograde your way out of late-stage capitalism.
Coping Mechanisms Are Personal—So Let People Cope However the Hell They Need To
Some people cope by organizing, protesting, or problem-solving. Others need escapism, art, humor, or faith. Some people turn to science, philosophy, religion, or spiritual practices like astrology.
All of these are valid. All of these are human.
What’s not helpful? Telling people how they should cope. Unless their coping mechanism is burning down orphanages or hoarding water supplies, maybe let people live.
✔ If astrology helps me? Great.
✔ If someone else processes things through activism? Amazing.
✔ If another person needs to sit in a dark room binging TikToks while eating an entire rotisserie chicken? Incredibly valid.
We Can’t Fix the World, But We Can Navigate It Without Losing Our Minds
I’ll always help where I can. I’ll always explain astrology’s insights, its wisdom, its cycles. But I never want to pretend that it’s the only way to understand life or that knowing Mercury’s placement is somehow going to dismantle oppressive systems.
Because at the end of the day? The world is messy. People are complicated. Pain exists. And no single tool, no matter how profound, is ever going to solve it all.
So if astrology helps you cope? Use it.
If it doesn’t? Find what does.
Because we’re all just trying to make sense of things, and honestly? That’s enough.
